Backyard Trails Summit, Laurel Fork Wilderness Area, Monongahela National Forest

In collaboration with Pocahontas Trails and the U.S. Forest Service, a weeklong event was held in the Laurel Fork Wilderness Area. Forest Service staff led crosscut saw training, equipping the SHARC Trails crew to assist with wilderness trail clearing. The week also included a masonry workshop for AmeriCorps members, along with a series of forums focused on coordinating volunteer efforts with the Forest Service and strengthening emergency response protocols with SHARC.
