Gauley-Tea Creek Connector Trail, Tea Creek Area, Monongahela National Forest

Gauley-Tea Creek Connector Trail serves as a vital pathway from the Tea Creek Trail to the Gauley Basin side of the Monongahela National Forest. Remnants of its past use still show in the form of left over railroad ties and rocky tread that was once rail grade. SHARC Trails’ goal was to add flow to the extremely rocky sections by installing high lines where available and filling in low points with rock armor. In one particular section, there was a 5 yard seep in which the crew had to do extensive stone pitching to ensure proper drainage for years to come.
